Art-o-mat Artist’s Projects Made Easier with Custom Steel Rule Dies

Countless creators enjoy sharing their art with others, and Georgia-based Debbie Bankston is one of them.

“I am an artist and have been combining my painting with paper arts for years,” Debbie said. Yet tragedy struck her family in 2021 when Debbie’s husband was diagnosed with cancer. Making sure that her husband was well cared for was now Debbie’s top priority, and she became his full-time caregiver.

Even though she was busy taking care of her husband, Debbie did not let her passion for art diminish. She became an Art-o-mat Artist and started creating small projects to sell in Art-o-mat machines, which are retired and refurbished cigarette machines found throughout the United States, with a few others located in Canada, Austria and Australia.  

CHALLENGE

Soon after joining the Art-o-mart team, Debbie realized that her art did not fit within the size guidelines of these machines. Plus, it would be problematic to quickly and efficiently create any project by hand while caring for her husband.  

“I wanted a way to cut my own designs for creating art for the collection of Art-o-mat projects as well as direct sales of my art projects,” Debbie explained.  

SOLUTION

Luckily, Debbie was already familiar with AccuCut, a sister company of Custom Shape Pros.
